Toccoa Put Aging Wastewater Clarifiers Before Commission for Upgrades

Toccoa placed proposed upgrades to the aeration and clarifier systems at its wastewater treatment plant before the city commission on March 9, 2020, with a public-hearing agenda describing repairs to two 65-foot-diameter clarifiers whose equipment was more than 23 years old. The proposal called for replacing the mechanical drive in clarifier No. 2 and undertaking protective work on both units.
