Toccoa commission halts Energy Systems Group contract after resident objections

The Toccoa City Commission voted 3–2 on Aug. 16, 2012, not to enter a proposed contract with Energy Systems Group and told city staff to stop further negotiations on the current project. The decision followed public comments from 10 named residents opposing the proposed contract.

The vote closed off a proposal that city officials had been negotiating only weeks earlier, before the city made a commitment to Energy Systems Group.
