Toccoa’s 2012 broadband backing stopped short of a commitment to build

The Toccoa City Commission unanimously authorized the mayor on Feb. 13, 2012, to sign a letter of commitment supporting a One Georgia grant application for the North East Georgia Network’s broadband fiber project. The action placed the city behind a regional proposal seeking state assistance, but the meeting record does not show that Toccoa itself approved construction, awarded money or promised a completed expansion of broadband service.
