The story

In July 2025, the Town Council's agenda listed an LMIG project award and pipe bid. Habersham County awarded the paving bid to Pittman Construction, and town records showed the town's share of the cost at about $74,484.50 to widen and pave River Street from the three-way stop in town to the curve near Hickory Nut, which would require additional SPLOST funds from the town.
