The story
In March 2026, Town Council agendas and packets listed an estimate for Birdie 3.0 Personal Safety Alarms at $1,365, funded by SZC Public Safety Funds.
The same $1,365 estimate appeared again ahead of the April 9 council meeting. Police Chief Elrod proposed buying the Birdie 3.0 alarms again for graduating students of the Tallulah Falls School.
The council unanimously approved the $1,365 purchase at the April 9 meeting.
