The following month, Avita Community Partners representative Michael Foust asked the board to fund renovation of an unused facility in Flowery Branch for a men's semi-independent substance use residential program. The chairman said the board would revisit the request to consider funding, but no vote on the Avita request appears in the record.
At the same February 25, 2025 meeting where Avita's request was on the agenda, commissioners instead voted unanimously to allocate $60,000 in opioid funds to Self-Discovery 24 to provide transportation for participants in drug accountability court.
