In September, the Habersham County Board of Tax Assessors voted to accept a letter from Chief Appraiser Joan Church, with board member Sonya Turgeon dissenting.
Two weeks later the board named Amy Garmon as acting chief appraiser. The board's minutes from that meeting were later amended to correct the record of the executive session discussion.
On October 20, the Habersham County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 to accept a retirement agreement for Church, acting on the tax assessors board's recommendation.
