The story

In April 2025, the Habersham County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's agenda proposed creating a board secretary position and electing officers. At that meeting, the board voted to delay choosing a volunteer secretary until the next meeting.

The secretary question resurfaced as part of a broader bylaws review. A January 2026 agenda proposed reviewing the advisory board's bylaws, and at that meeting the board voted 5-0 to review the bylaws and bring suggestions to the following meeting in February.
