At its March 25, 2025 meeting, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners discussed raising the county's hotel/motel tax, which has been at 5% for a while, to 8%.
On April 7, 2025, the board voted 5-0 to have local legislation drafted and introduced in the Georgia General Assembly to increase the Hotel/Motel tax rate from 5% to 8%, under O.C.G.A. § 48-13-51(b).
