The story

Alan Baker and Philip Smith petitioned the Demorest City Council for a special use permit to allow multi-family residential use on 4.14 acres at 415 Fisk Avenue. The council opened a public hearing on the request on April 7.

At that same April 7 meeting, a council member said a news article claiming the Fisk Avenue permit had been discussed at the council's March meeting was inaccurate.

The request returned to the council's May 5 agenda. Rather than act on the permit itself, the council voted 3-1, with Allen dissenting, to reschedule the public hearing on it to June 2.
