Cornelia’s proposed rules for vape shops still have no documented final decision, even after the City Commission was scheduled to revisit a zoning-ordinance amendment at its Aug. 4, 2026 meeting. The question reaches beyond one storefront. Cornelia’s 2025 proposal would add “Vape Shops” as a specific use in the city zoning code’s provisions for nonresidential districts and specific uses. Until the city establishes whether that language was adopted, changed or abandoned, residents and property owners cannot know whether the use has distinct location or review rules, and prospective operators lack a clear answer about where it may be allowed.

The public process began with a notice scheduling the Planning Commission to hear the proposed amendment on Aug. 21, 2025. Any claim that distinct vape-shop zoning rules are now in force remains unconfirmed.

Those records would answer the still-open questions: whether the city acted, whether the vape-shop language survived revisions, and which nonresidential districts or review standards apply.
