In August 2024, Tallulah Falls approved a proposal for a Jake's Spikeball tournament as a Cornelia Downtown Development Authority fundraiser. The DDA also began discussing a 'Costume Kickball' event for spring 2025, suggesting it be paired with another event.
By its January 2025 meeting, the DDA/Main Street Board listed both the Spikeball tournament and Costume Kickball as potential fundraisers and set a date of March 8 for an event at the baseball fields.
In February 2025, the board agreed to reschedule the kickball game to around Halloween. The Spikeball tournament, run with Jake Owensby and the Tallulah Falls Schools spikeball club, remained set for March 8, with proceeds to be split evenly between the DDA and the club.
