The story
In January 2025, Cornelia's Downtown Development Authority/Main Street Board set ticket pricing for its Dessert Crawl fundraiser at $15 for a single ticket and $10 for each additional ticket, with a Jan. 31 deadline. By early February, 80 people had signed up, with the board planning to cap attendance at 100.
In March, the board evaluated the event and agreed that future tickets should cost at least $20. Members also discussed adding a crawl during the July Catch Me in Cornelia event.
The board approved a follow-up "beverage crawl" for July 31, tied to Catch Me in Cornelia, and in June approved selling 100 tickets at $25 each for that date.
By late July, only 15 tickets had been sold, and the board asked members to promote the event on social media. In August the board approved the idea of holding another crawl in October.
