At a December workshop, commissioners discussed the proposed annexation, including a developer offer of land for a combined fire/police public safety outpost and concerns that nearby schools are at full capacity for new housing. During public forum, speakers said Cook Communities would pay $80 million for infrastructure, to be reimbursed to the company only through taxes from new property owners. The commission also went into executive session on related litigation and voted 4-0 to exit with no action taken. Separately, commissioners discussed a related 284-acre mixed-use proposal near Level Grove Road, described as the "Big Red Apple Innovation Corridor" from Cook & Company, which drew questions about data centers.
