The story
Jonathan Golden requested approval for a new commercial facade for a building to be constructed at 1371 Washington Street. Lew Oliver presented plans for a retail coffee roaster along with two efficiency loft apartments on the second story, and the Clarkesville Planning Commission approved the design unanimously on August 19, 2025.
Golden returned to the Planning Commission on October 14, 2025 requesting a revision review of the previously approved design. The commission approved the revised facade 3-0. Commissioner Roxie Barron abstained because she had not yet been appointed to the commission when the original design was approved.
