The story
In November 2024, the Clarkesville Planning Commission tabled a motion to approve a demolition and facade request for the Waffle House at 661 W Louise St, voting 3-0 to send the plans back to the applicant with suggestions because the site sits in the historic corridor.
The request returned to the commission in January 2025. Commissioners voted 3-0 to approve it with additions, including putting a step parapet over the sign to break up the roofline and installing gooseneck lighting over the signs.
