The story
The Baldwin City Council considered a zoning change for 112 Shore Street, a .71-acre property owned by Aguilar, to rezone it from Neighborhood Commercial to Residential Single Family (R2). At a January 7, 2025 public hearing on the first reading, the council opened the floor for comment; no one spoke in favor or opposition.
On January 13, 2025, the council took up the second reading of the ordinance. Council member Alice Venter moved to approve it as presented, with a second from Kerri Davis, and the council approved the rezoning 5-0.
