Tallulah Falls auditor urges review of rules governing long-term town assets

Tallulah Falls’ outside auditor, Joely Mixon, pressed the Town Council on Jan. 14, 2021, to revisit the accounting rules it uses for long-lived town purchases. Mixon recommended that council consider whether the useful-life schedule for capital assets still fit the town’s needs and whether to raise the $500 threshold at which a purchase is recorded as a capital asset.
