Tallulah Falls police chief sought $17,000 for school-stored active-shooter equipment

Tallulah Falls Police Chief Elrod asked the Town Council on Feb. 9, 2023, to provide active-shooter equipment for use in connection with the school, with an estimated price of about $17,000. Mayor Early said the equipment would belong to the town and be stored at the school, placing a proposed police-response resource on school property without transferring ownership from the town.
