Tallulah Falls fire-protection study for Hickory Nut Mountain still lacks a documented green light

More than two years after Tallulah Falls council took up a proposed engineering study tied to fire protection on Hickory Nut Mountain, the public record described in the town’s February and April 2024 meeting materials still does not show that the study was authorized, funded or completed. On Feb. 8, 2024, council unanimously approved adding the item to its agenda and then approved the amended agenda; that procedural vote is the clearest documented action.
