The story

In June 2025, the Royston City Council adopted an amendment to the proposed FY26 budget covering the Rates and Fees Schedule and the natural gas base rate for agricultural contract customers without a master meter. The council approved the change 6-0.

Nearly a year later, in March 2026, the council took up further additions and changes to the FY2026 rates and fees, this time adding new fees connected to recent ordinances. The council approved the changes 6-0, with the new charges including amounts ranging from $250.00 to $325.00 as well as separate fees of $150.00, $50.00, and $35.00.
