Lavonia weighs clearer rules after resident raises burning concerns

Lavonia City Council was alerted April 1, 2024, to a resident’s concerns about burning in the city, opening the possibility that officials could eventually set more specific local parameters for individual burning. City Manager Rusty Carroll told the council that a representative of the Georgia Forestry Department would attend a work session to offer ideas on possible solutions and potentially help shape an ordinance.
