Lavonia poultry-rule discussion remains unresolved after planned resident address

A planned discussion of chickens before the Lavonia Mayor and Council did not proceed as expected on Aug. 5, 2024, when Patricia McCallister was absent from the meeting. The council record says McCallister had been expected to address the body about her chickens, but it does not record a vote, amendment or other action on the city’s poultry ordinance.
