FEMA approves nearly $488,000 for Lavonia generators, but installation remains unproven

FEMA has approved a $487,963.03 grant for backup generators at Lavonia’s water treatment plant, City Hall complex and pump stations, the city manager reported to the City Council on May 6, 2024. The planned package includes a 300-kilowatt fixed generator for the treatment plant, a 60-kilowatt fixed generator for City Hall and two 70-kilowatt portable generators for pump stations.
