Habersham senior school-tax exemption request remains unresolved after county meeting

A request to revisit Habersham County’s $12,000 senior school-tax exemption income limit remains unresolved nearly two years after Ken Haines raised it before the county Board of Commissioners. At the board’s Dec. 16, 2024 meeting, Haines asked commissioners to meet with the Board of Education about increasing the limit for inflation, but the minutes record no vote, amendment or scheduled joint discussion.
