Habersham Restores Magistrate Court Clerk Authority to the Judge

Habersham County commissioners unanimously voted Aug. 16, 2021, to rescind the resolution that had made the Superior Court clerk the Clerk of Magistrate Court, returning authority over the Magistrate Court clerk position to Magistrate Judge Gerald Johnson. The Board of Commissioners also authorized Johnson to appoint a clerk and directed county officials to work on funding the change, according to the meeting minutes.
