Seventh Street bridge replacement remains stalled at unanswered right-of-way question

More than a year after Habersham County commissioners were scheduled to consider a state agreement tied to replacing the Seventh Street bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railway, the central question remains unresolved: whether the board acted on it. The Aug. 18, 2025 Board of Commissioners agenda listed a proposed memorandum of agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation covering right-of-way expenses for the railroad-overpass project, but does not record an outcome.
