Habersham’s Strategic-Plan Push Faces an Unclear Path After ARC Deadline

Habersham County’s effort to finance a community strategic plan entered an uncertain phase on March 13, 2025, when an administrative update said the Appalachian Regional Commission’s March 11 pre-application deadline had passed. Officials said the pre-application was nearly complete but still awaited changes suggested by the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, while identifying June 11 as the next deadline.

The discussion matters because a community strategic plan could shape how Habersham’s economic-development leaders define priorities for growth and future investment across the county.
