Habersham airport weighs event limits as closure rules complicate nonprofit use

Habersham Airport Commission members confronted a basic operational question at their July 21, 2021 work session: whether event activities and parking could require closing parts of the county airport. Phil Ebesly, president of airport consultant Lead Edge, told the commission that the FAA would not permit an airport closure without six months’ advance notice, according to the meeting minutes.
