Habersham County’s Backup-Generator Plan Remains Stuck at the Grant-Application Stage

Habersham County’s effort to add backup generators at two county facilities remains an unresolved funding proposal more than four years after it was announced. At a March 21, 2022 Board of Commissioners meeting, County Manager Phil Sutton told commissioners that EMA/E911 Director Lynn Smith was applying for a grant to acquire generators for the Road Department and the Administrative Building. The account documents an application, but not whether it produced equipment or backup power.
