Habersham Firehouse Renovations Remain Unfunded as SPLOST VIII Decision Stalls

Habersham County’s possible use of SPLOST VIII proceeds for firehouse renovations remains unresolved more than a year after commissioners raised the idea at a June 16, 2025 work session. The discussion followed news that the construction estimate for a Fire/EMA/E911 headquarters exceeded its budget, yet the meeting minutes say the commission had not voted to include firehouse renovations in the next sales-tax program.
