Habersham pay-study debate raised questions about timing, public scrutiny and commissioner salaries

A proposed Habersham County pay-study vote drew a public call for delay on Nov. 21, 2022, when Bob Guthrie told the Board of Commissioners that Evergreen’s study results were not yet available. Guthrie asked commissioners to give themselves and residents more time to research the pay information before moving ahead, and he urged them to reject a $5,000 salary increase for commissioners.
