Habersham approved federal-funded shift incentives as public-safety vacancies strained coverage

Habersham County commissioners unanimously authorized American Rescue Plan-funded shift bonuses or differential supplements for public-safety employees at their Oct. 18, 2021 regular meeting, responding to reported difficulty recruiting workers and covering open shifts. The same vote approved a one-time $500 payment for every full-time county employee.
