Habersham approves state-paid paramedic follow-up for stroke patients after hospital discharge

Habersham County commissioners unanimously approved an agreement May 16, 2022, with the Georgia Department of Public Health that would have the county’s Community Paramedicine program manage follow-up for stroke patients after they left Habersham Medical Center. The action authorized a planned post-discharge service and contemplated compensation from the state health department for the county’s work.
