Habersham swimmers press county to safeguard lap pool and seek state-meet bid

Habersham County’s competitive-swimming community asked county commissioners on Nov. 20, 2023, to turn recently completed lap-pool repairs into a dependable operating plan and to pursue a bid for a state championship swim meet the following July. Head presented the competitive-swimming community’s position: the county should publish a maintenance schedule, provide aquatic-center staff with appropriate training and consider employing two or three certified pool operators.
