Habersham County Moves Toward Tighter Open-Burning Rules, but Final Vote Remains Unconfirmed

Habersham County commissioners advanced proposed changes to the county’s open-burning ordinance on Dec. 16, 2024, completing the first required reading of rules that would govern outdoor fires at private homes, construction sites, agricultural land-clearing areas, rights-of-way and in emergencies.
