Habersham airport youth aviation program remains unresolved without county approval

More than three years after the Habersham County Airport Commission revisited a proposal to host an Aviation Explorer youth group, the program remains unresolved: the June 5, 2023 work-session minutes record discussion of the idea but do not show approval by the Habersham County Board of Commissioners or a signed memorandum of understanding. Airport commissioners were considering a program that could introduce teenagers and young adults to aviation careers while relying on airport space and personnel. The Board of Commissioners held the required approval role for any MOU, according to the May meeting minutes. Hosting the group, making terminal space available and providing airport staff as leaders were proposals discussed by the airport commission, not completed acts documented in the minutes.
