Habersham County Considers $10,000 Cap on Timber Road-Damage Bonds

Habersham County officials considered requiring escalating road-damage bonds of as much as $10,000 under a proposed timber-harvest ordinance, according to the county’s June 19, 2023 regular-meeting minutes. The proposal described a bond of up to $5,000 for an initial instance of road damage, up to $7,500 after damage occurs and up to $10,000 for an additional instance, with no bond set above that ceiling.
