Habersham approved fitness-equipment donation, but its public use remains unclear

Habersham County commissioners voted 5-0 on Feb. 20, 2023, to authorize the county Recreation Department to accept fitness equipment donated by Habersham Medical Center’s Total Fitness Wellness Center. The action came as North Georgia Health Systems said the wellness program would close two days later, on Feb. 22. The county’s meeting minutes confirm the authorization, but they do not show that equipment ever changed hands or became available to residents.
