The story
In April 2025, the Habersham County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board discussed a proposed budget and fee schedule and asked staff to bring a copy back for the board to review.
The Advisory Board took up the fee schedule again in late May 2025 and voted 4-0 to approve a new version, including changes to non-resident fees, a rental admin/reservation deposit, an adult kickball fee, and a volume discount for lessees.
After the new fee schedule was presented to the board in July, the Habersham County Board of Commissioners moved in August to amend it to add a volume discount specifically for Fairgrounds rentals, and approved that amendment 5-0 at its September 15 meeting.
Separately, the Advisory Board tabled a proposal for discounted fairground rental rates tied to shorter setup and teardown times, saying it wanted a deeper review of the fairground contract language, and tabled additional rate changes again in November 2025.
