Habersham County approves Highway 17 shelter expansion with parking limits

Habersham County commissioners unanimously approved Habersham Homeless Ministries’ request to establish a homeless shelter at 825 Hwy. 17 North on March 21, 2022, clearing the way for use of a three-bedroom house beside the organization’s existing shelter. The approval of conditional-use request CU-22-01 came with conditions that prohibit parking in the front yard and on the septic system.
