Habersham fills development-authority vacancy after stalled nomination

Habersham County commissioners voted 4-1 on Sept. 15, 2025, to appoint David Lovvorn to the county’s at-large Joint Development Authority seat, filling the position left open after Mike Beecham’s term expired. Commissioner Tench cast the dissenting vote. Before the vote on Lovvorn, a nomination of C. Allen Whitner failed when it received no second.
