The story

The Habersham County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 on January 27, 2025 to appoint Commissioner Mealor to the Avita Board as the Commissioner Representative.

By March, the seat needed to be filled again following Mealor's resignation from the position. On March 17, commissioners voted 3-0 to table a new appointment until the April 21 meeting.

At the April 21 meeting, an amended agenda listed the At-Large appointment to fill the remainder of the term following Mealor's resignation, but commissioners again voted 4-0 to table the decision until the next meeting.
