The story
The Habersham County Board of Commissioners voted 4-0 on April 21, 2025 to approve an annual contract with Trio Community Meals to supply congregate and frozen meals for the Habersham Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program.
A packet tied to the August 18, 2025 meeting noted that RFP documents and a bid award for the meal program had been completed in early June 2025, and laid out per-meal rates for the new agreement, including $5.003 for bulk hot/chilled meals, $5.37 for pre-plated hot/chilled and therapeutic meals, $5.83 for frozen meals, and $5.194 for shelf-stable meals, along with a $2,000,000 per-occurrence and annual aggregate general liability insurance requirement.
On August 18, 2025, the Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve a Food Service Agreement and Addendum #1 with Trio Community Meals for provision of nutrition services to Senior Center clients.
