In August 2025, the Habersham County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board took up a proposal to allow half-day rentals on Fridays and Sundays for set-up and clean-up around Saturday facility rentals, with the option of limiting those hours to times when staff is on duty.
At that same August 19 meeting, the board voted 4-0 to table the discussion until its next meeting on September 16.
The board continued discussing the half-day Fairgrounds rental days at its September and October meetings.
At the October 21 meeting, the board decided not to negotiate the Fairgrounds rental rules at this time, saying it would consider the matter next year at budget time.
