In January 2025, the Franklin Springs City Council scheduled a public hearing on a proposal to opt the city out of the HB581 homestead exemption.
The opt-out resolution returned as an agenda item at the council's February 20, 2025 meeting. At that meeting, Mayor Moore read the HB581 resolution and Bill Bell made a motion to approve it.
