Franklin Springs senior city-tax exemption remains an idea, not a tax break

Franklin Springs has not yet created the 100% city-tax exemption for residents 65 and older that city leaders discussed at the City Council’s Feb. 20, 2025, meeting. Mayor Moore said the city would like to provide the relief and would investigate the steps needed to put it in place, according to the meeting minutes, but the record does not show an adopted exemption, application process or effective date.
