The Franklin Springs City Council placed the 2026 millage rate on its August 20 meeting agenda for consideration.

At that meeting, Councilman Bell moved to approve the millage at 3.2 mills, Councilman Walden seconded, and the motion carried. The rate continues a decline from 7 mills in 2021, 6 mills in 2022, 5 mills in 2023, 4.7 mills in 2024 and 3.5 mills in 2025. City records show the net tax digest grew from $19,443,749 to $42,009,937, with projected 2026 tax collections of $134,432 compared to $136,106 collected in 2021.
