The story
Georgia EPD's Air Protection Branch has recommended issuing a permit amendment allowing Rema Tip Top/North America Inc. to install three new mixing tanks and one filling station at its Madison facility to produce new adhesive products. The agency's notice lists the change as increasing volatile organic compound emissions by 11.82 tons per year and total hazardous air pollutants by the same amount, with toluene emissions rising by 9.8 tons per year and benzene emissions reaching 195.39 pounds per year, above the facility's maximum emission rate of 31.63 pounds per year.
A later EPD notice for a synthetic minor permit covering the same Morgan County adhesive production and distribution facility again describes installation of three additional mixing tanks and one filling station.
