The story
The Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to approve outside legal counsel, Kevin Epps, for Commissioners Thompson, Pulliam, Smith and Robert Ogburn, with the county paying for the representation.
Ten days later, the commissioners issued a statement correcting that earlier vote. They said Epps would continue representing them in their official capacity, but that no county funds would be used to cover his legal expenses.
